To get started using Kahzam Instant Messenger you must first create a Kahzam Web-Mail account if you do not already have one.
Once you have a Kahzam Web-Mailaccount press the "Download Now" button below.
Save kahzamIM1.exe to your desktop. Once downloading has completed, go to your desktop, double-click the kahzamIM1.exe icon, and follow the instructions to finish the installation.
You will use your Kahzam Web-Mail user name and password to access the Kahzam Instant Messenger service.

About Kahzam Instant Messenger
Instant messenger allows you to communicate with others on Kahzam. You can maintain personalized contact lists and ignore users by creating ignore lists. You can check the online status of the users in your contact list and either contact them directly in a private chat session or communicate with users in a public chat room.
Getting started; from the “chat” option on your main toolbar scroll down to “options” highlight and open. You can select Auto-login which will log in the same user each time automatically. If there are more than one user on any single computer then uncheck that option so you can log on each desired user name and password and then use Kahzam messenger. “Sounds” option is checked as the default and will allow you to receive audible alerts from other members. The sound option is manual and can be found on your private chat window as the “Bell” icon. Sounds can be initiated by clicking on the bell, they are not automatic when a message is sent or received. You can use the “bell” to alert a user you are now online or to see whether or not a contact is available.
To save a chat in a public or private window click the icon of the floppy disc and then pick a file to save it. Once a file is created or chosen the save feature will open that directory as the default.

Groups, Contact & Ignore Lists
Contact lists can be organized into “groups”. To create a new group use the “contacts” option on the main toolbar of the messenger, scroll to “create group”, high-light and click, then type in the name of your new group and click “ok”. You can keep groups open or you can close them by clicking on the arrow to the right of the group name. When the group is open you will be able to view the online status of your contacts and send messages to your contacts in that group. If the group is closed you will still receive messages from the contacts in that group but not see them. When you add a user to your contact list this user is automatically removed from your ignore list and vice versa when you add user to ignore list this user is automatically removed from all groups in your contact list.
To ignore a user, right click on that user’s name and choose ignore user from the options. To un-ignore a user, double-click the username in your ignore list (to open ignore list, use main menu or toolbar icon with red “X” Users that are removed from the ignore list must be manually added back to a group if you wish to contact them. All ignored users are prohibited from sending private messages to you.
[home]To enter a “public” chat room use the main toolbar and click on “chat”; scroll to chat and enter public chat room. Kahzam public chat comes with 3 rooms; main, 1 & 2. You can add rooms for group chats or hobby chat rooms by either clicking on the icon of the blank page in the upper left hand corner of your chat panel or by clicking on chat in the main panel and scrolling down to new room and clicking on it. To change room in the public chat, double-click the room title in the room list.
To start a “private” chat with another user, click on the username in your contact list or in the public chat window. Use Enter key or Send button to send messages. To insert a smiley face, click the right click over the message edit field. The menu of smiley icons will appear, click on any image to insert.
