LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Last spring, Australian actor Sam Worthington was a Hollywood newcomer and box office unknown who was busy promoting his starring role in big-budget action flick "Terminator: Salvation."

Seven months later, following his turn in James Cameron's $2.7 billion blockbuster "Avatar," Worthington is now forever associated with the highest grossing film of all time.

LONDON (Reuters) - Emma Thompson as a 1940s supernanny has ended the three-week reign of Alice in Wonderland at the top of the UK box office, according to Screen International on Tuesday.

"Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang," with Thompson riding to the rescue of harassed mum Maggie Gyllenhaal, took 2.58 million pounds on its debut weekend.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Michael Rosenfeld, a founding partner at Creative Artists Agency who shaped such showbiz classics as "West Side Story," "Mary Poppins" and "Rich Man, Poor Man," died March 25 of respiratory failure in Los Angeles after a long illness. He was 75.

Tribeca festival to close with "Freakonomics" film PDF Print E-mail

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A documentary adapted from the best-selling book "Freakonomics" by filmmakers Alex Gibney and Morgan Spurlock will feature as the closing film at the Tribeca Film Festival, organizers said on Monday.

"Freakonomics," based on the book which applies economic theory to societal issues like crime and effective parenting that sold more than 4 million copies worldwide, will premiere at Tribeca that runs from April 21 to May 2.
